Alan Chit graduated more than 45 years ago with a major in marketing followed by a study in pharmacology. After his studies he has been working at a management level in the area of food and drugs. His personal experience with China began in 1978 when he was responsible for the creation of a joint venture food factory in the southern part of China.
Since he joined the pharmaceutical industry in 1983, Alan has actively participated in its development. He was the President of the Hong Kong Association of Pharmaceutical Industry in 1992 and 1994. During his tenure, he has unveiled many China regulatory and business mysteries and helped the industry to have a better understanding of the Chinese pharmaceutical market.
Following more than years of being associated with Chugai Pharmaceutical, Alan joined HPC Healthcare & Pharma Consulting International Limited in 1993. The following 2 years, Alan was acting as honorary consultant to the Chinese Ministry of Health for the reform of the plasma protein industry and blood donation issues in China.
Apart from his regular commercial activities, Alan is retained as an honorary advisor by many international scientific societies and research institutes as well as governmental agencies. In addition, Alan gives occasionally lectures at universities and speaks at various international and regional conferences and seminars, using his experience and knowledge about China. Alan has been active as a consultant for PPTA in China for more than 15 years.
